Destinations Beyond the Horizon

Living Free Around the Isthmus / Polynesia

Panama is far more developed and modern than most people anticipate. This country has the most advanced and modern infrastructure in the region... First-World convenience at Central American prices. Outside the city, there are beautiful beaches everywhere, with the Atlantic Ocean on one coast and the Pacific on the other. But there’s more to Panama than a sophisticated city and gorgeous beaches. There are rolling green tropical mountains, the fertile countryside, lush rainforests, and small towns where foreign visitors are made to feel like family. In all, there are some 1,000 islands off the Pacific coast.

Polynesia, a vast string of islands in the Pacific Ocean, including Hawaii, New Zealand, Easter Island, Tonga, and French Polynesia.

No other part of the world offers so many cruising opportunities and diverse attractions as the South Pacific, from French Polynesia’s spectacular anchorages in the Marquesas to the turquoise lagoons of the Tuamotu Archipelago, from the giant statues of Isla de Pascua, or Easter Island, to the traditional villages of Vanuatu, the sheltered waters of Vava’u, in Tonga, and the remote island communities of New Zealand’s Tokelau and the nation of Tuvalu. The vastness of the Pacific Ocean, and the great distances that separate most island groups, make long passages a normal feature in this part of the world.

God said, 'Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place.' And it was so. God called the waters that were gathered together Seas. And God saw that it was good.  And God said, 'Surf's up Bruddah, Surf's up'.
